Liberty comes to Aus (well, a bit..)

So it may have become obvious that I love all things Liberty, especially the signature floral Liberty Prints. Which is why I was so excited to see some Liberty print available in Aus through the Liberty/Sportcraft collab.

The best thing about the Liberty print is that you can do just as much as you want. From a little...

To a lot...

But my absolute favourite...

LVMH gets Nicolas Kirkwood

So LVMH strikes again! One of the worst-kept secrets in fashion is now out - LVMH have acquired a majority stake in Nicolas Kirkwood for an undisclosed sum.  LVMH said that Kirkwood will remain with the business following the sale, and will be given free rein to “further explore the boundaries of his creativity”.

This is seen as a move to bolster the ranks of young cutting edge designers at LVMH, which is better known for its uber-luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Celine, Fendi and Kenzo. But what Kering does, LVMH has to do better, and after Kering's acquisition of 51 per cent of Christoper Kane earlier this year, the question has not been if, but when, LVMH would muscle in on the British scene.

But the stake in Kirkwood is a solid investment in its own right. The two-time Accessories Designer of the year at the British Fashion awards, this year became the first accessories designer to be awarded the British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund.  His shoes have been worn by BeyoncĂ©, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jessica Alba.

These shoes are made for... working

It gets to a certain point in the pay cycle, when the weather has been a bit wet and I may have stepped in one puddle too many, and all of my work shoes are looking decidedly scruffy. Even the eternal stash of heels under my desk is looking tired. There is only one thing for it, I need some newbies.

And, luckily, there are a few cute ones out there...

First up, your classic bitchin' stiletto. This season, I am all about the pointy toes. yeow.

Mirabelle Heel $148 at MIDAS

For a business flat I love these slippers with laser-cut detail, a little bit more interesting than your standard ballerina. All leather too.

Allout laser-cut slipper $138 at MIDAS

But there are also plenty of days when I'm just not sure whether I want to wear a heel or a flat.  With this cute patent number, I can feel at least like I am making some sort of an effort, and I will still be able to feel my toes at the end of the day. That's a win.

Amelie patent heel $128 at MIDAS

And as we come into summer, this nude heel is the kind of thing I know I will find myself wearing just about every day. The heel isn't too high, and the colour will flatter even the most pasty legs.

Belina nude heel $178 at MIDAS

And for something a little bit racy...

Tauro brogues $120 (on sale!) at MIDAS
